The pain, suffering and death endured by men and women as a result of domestic abuse are way too serious for a continuing silent response. Verbal, mental and psychological abuse is denied, ignored or covered up by victims who are trapped in circumstances in which they are besieged, having nowhere to turn. The author posits that marriage must be the product mutual love with God at the centre; that when God is so often left out of our engagement in love, loving and marriage, it will not be long before we discover that we are left with nothing but momentary sensual satisfaction, self-gratification or enjoyment that moves into the realm of addiction.
He emphasizes that when God is returned to His central place in these vital human engagements, the secular barriers will be removed. Only then will domestic violence, abuse and death in the name of love begin to diminish.
